As the owner of M.B. Performance Competition Engines (MBP), Mark (Bushy) Busscher is a fully qualified engine builder (automotive machinist) and after being born into the trade Bushy has 30+ years of experience in standard, high performance and endurance engines. Bushy also has over 30 years’ experience in ANDRA drag racing, sports sedan and super stock classes, Australian Sports Sedan Circuit Racing, Targa racing and Ski Racing Australia ski race endurance engines. Competing personally, as a second-generation drag racer, gives our customers an added edge as Bushy knows the mechanics of what it takes to be in a winning team. At MBP we strive to keep our teams in the latest technology and with the latest parts, to keep the winning edge and ensure all teams under the MBP umbrella remain at the pointy end of the podium. We also specialise in engines for tractor pulls, speedway and jet boats, as well as stock rebuilds and general engine repairs.

About Our Services

At MBP we provide many service options to our customers, from reconditioning engines though to developing customised engines and product design.

MBP also offers all machine shop services including boring, honing, balancing, dyno tuning, cylinder head and manifold porting and assembly and can cater for all sized jobs – large or small.

Some of our typical services include custom grind camshafts, porting and polishing cylinder heads, block boring, block honing with torque plate, valve grinding, flat milling and angle milling cylinder heads, cam tunnel boring, line boring, 3D valve seat angles and custom valve angles. We also completely disassemble, inspect and reassemble race engines and dyno tuning for final tune ups before race day.

At MBP we pride ourselves in always providing quality products and service, therefore every step of the process is carefully controlled, from thorough cleaning of all parts to the precision measuring of components during the assembly process. Great care is taken in the assembly of every engine, with each one being treated as though it’s being built for our own use!
